Ben Shapiro Will be Forgotten.

Someday, Ben Shapiro will be forgotten about. At least I can dream. I know it’s passe to write about hating a political commentator with as much clout, and I know it’s tasteless to wish even worse fates on him. So, I can hope, without compunction, that he’s forgotten.  I don’t say this for all the obvious reasons, although there are plenty of reasons to hope that television’s youthful, sneering dose of manipulative, right-wing arrogance will be forgotten.  I don’t say this because he’s the most prominent of a group of youthful, under-40s, arch-conservatives who somehow pass off bigotry in defense of some precious cultural value. Because he does do this. And effectively, too. Sadly, Ben Shapiro is also from a long tradition of very well-respected bigots in the literary world.

Civil War: Biphobia Within The LGBTQ+ Community

When faced with discrimination from the heterosexual community, the LGBTQ+ community stands united with picket signs. During televised rallies or protests, they wave their clenched fists and bare their teeth as signs that they are ready for battle. Whether it is a baker who refused to make a cake for a same-sex couple, the clerk who refused to issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple,  or the battle for marriage equality, they fight valiantly to the bitter, broken end. They fight because they are united. They fight because they are family. Monday came around and you were still gone Tuesday’s here, I don’t think that I can carry on It’s the middle of the week, so it’s almost over But once Thursday comes, I’ll lose my composure It’s finally Friday, much like any other day Saturday hits, your mark won’t fade away It’s now Sunday and the cycle continues I’m empty With memories to write about All to try to make myself forgive you.
